Tiger Gaming Review
Thanks for coming to my new site! Every couple of weeks I will write an article about something related to online poker. In this post I will write about Tiger Gaming, a skin of the Action Poker network.
Tiger Gaming is a nice site with pleasing graphics and a clean interface. The bonus is generous and the support is very useful when you have a problem. What makes Tiger Gaming unique from other sites is that it has some different games that you won’t find in any other poker room. These include the "poker" game of Guts (very loosely called poker), the classic card game Big 2, as well as Chinese Poker and Pan. You can’t get a blackjack download here, but this will become your site of choice if you enjoy any of the other games.
In addition to the unique games mentioned, Tiger Gaming has Limit and No Limit Holdem, Limit and Pot-limit Omaha and 7 Card Stud (in theory).
Tiger Gaming has recently been advertising aggressively in Canada, encouraging consumers to download free poker in commercials airing on TSN, Rogers Sportsnet and The Score. It looks like they thought that Canada is an untapped poker market. It makes sense that a lot of the players on this site are Canadian, then, and you’ll be happy to know that the bulk of them are quite bad at poker.
Sometimes you’ll find there aren’t that that many games running, especially at 50NL+ and 1/2+. However, if you’ve just gotten into money poker sites and you want to start small, you should be able to find plenty of action from 2 to 25NL. For example, if you want to play 5NL, you’ll usually have between four and eight tables to pick from. If you want to play 50NL, it’ll be a little bit trickier. If you are lucky there will be one open, on rare occasions two tables. Those looking for 100NL will be even more disappointed. Sometimes there will be a NL100 available but very rarely. They offer $1000NL games but I’ve never seen it run, so these players will just have to make do with Daniels Room poker instead.
I will just go ahead and tell you that the traffic for the other games is pretty awful. 7 Card Stud is available for those interested, but its tables remain empty day after day. Omaha is almost as bad. There may be one table of Omaha going on, and it’s usually Pot Limit with 20 cent blinds. If you prefer these games, you should instead consider a PokerStars download. As for the exotic games, you’ll almost for sure find them running during peak hours. Because Tiger is the only place that offers these games, the traffic is reasonable. My favorite game, Guts, typically runs two or three tables at once, and the minimum bet is usually from 10 to 50 cents.
Overall, the action on Tiger Gaming is not good but if you are a lower stakes player, it is not bad either. If you are a beginner at the game, I would recommend that you build a bankroll at Tiger and then you can move to a Full Tilt Poker download when you want to play higher stakes.
Thanks for reading! Come back in two weeks for another article.
